I worked with The Alice Austen House to co-produce, co-direct, shoot and edit videos celebrating National Coming Out Day and honoring activist Joan E. Biren and writer and podcaster Eric Marcus.

Joan E. Biren (known as JEB) discusses her career as a photographer, filmmaker and activist. Her books, Eye to Eye: Portraits of Lesbians (1979) and Making a Way: Lesbians Out Front (1987) chronicled the lives of the LGBTQ community, giving visibility and promoting understanding during a time when there was none.

Eric Marcus hosts an amazing podcast called Making Gay History. Seriously…check it out. While researching his book, Making History: The Struggle for Gay and Lesbian Equal Rights (1992), Marcus interviewed dozens of people involved in the LGBTQ civil rights movement from Dear Abby to Marsha P. Johnson to Ellen. He talks about turning these incredible interviews into a podcast that brings the struggles and triumphs of this movement to life.
